Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Cost Reporting, is a key member of the Finance team and will help drive the company forward by partnering closely with global cross-functional teams to support the growth of our rapidly expanding business; driving controllership, innovation, and insights which will in turn drive cost-effective operations across the US distribution network.

You’ll make a huge impact by  working collaboratively and providing meaningful insights to finance and business partner leaders making critical decisions for the company.   

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Create a strategic roadmap for continuous improvement, automation,  and development of key dashboards and metrics that support weekly cost reporting; enable streamlining to allow more opportunities to achieve operational excellence, benchmarking, and lessons learned
  • Becoming a key contributor to statistical, financial, strategic, and operational analysis and modeling involving large data sets to: support and improve business operations; implement best practices; and conduct cost benefit analysis. Diving deep into the financial data and becoming a subject matter expert to provide additional insights and communicate key drivers / inputs to support business decisions.
  • Performing financial reporting, ad-hoc project analyses, and financial modeling.
  • Facilitating financial review meetings with business groups and working with business managers to ensure effective controllership and cost management
  • Creating, improving, and maintaining financial metrics, reports and scorecards
  • Championing technology and automation, including the implementation of new  tools and dashboards
  • Identifying process improvements and transformation opportunities, and partnering with process owners and stakeholders to scope opportunities, define problem statements and objectives, and structure projects and teams
  • Root cause analysis and uncovering core issues using data, then assisting the operations and finance teams in improving and creating new measures of cost performance
  • Managing the development of our weekly cost reporting models and their continuous innovation through partnership with Operations, Procurement, Logistics, Data Analytics and Finance 
  • Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely
  • Recruit, develop and retain top talent on the cost reporting team

Basic Qualifications: 

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business and/or similar discipline with analytical bias
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles
  • 6+ years experience in positions that require analysis and reporting financial results
  • 3+ years experience in collecting, analyzing and managing quantitative data and creating meaningful reports and dashboards to lead business improvement and cost reductions
  • Expert in Excel and experience with Oracle
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and/or analytical experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
  • 2+ years of hiring, leading and developing teams and exceptional talent
  • Proven ability to manage a team with competing priorities & providing level-headed guidance during unexpected events

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • MBA and/ or Professional certification (CPA/CMA/Qualified Accounting certificate) + relevant experience in cost reporting/scm and food/grocery/manufacturing/ecommerce industries
  • Experience designing and building financial dashboards and ad hoc analysis using data wrangling and reporting tools like Alteryx and Tableau
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Proven ability to develop and manage financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying excellent business judgment
  • Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and externally, with a customer-focused, professional demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability gain respect of senior management
  • Ability to work successfully in an ambiguous environment including an ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload and drive projects to completion
  • Ability to travel; up to 25% travel may be required within the US

$120-130K Base + This position is eligible to participate in the HelloFresh equity program, contingent on Supervisory Board Approval.
