Associate Director Supply Chain Management (m/f/x)

The role

Reporting into the SVP Supply, Product and Sustainability as Associate Director Supply Chain Management you'll be responsible to manage our international initiatives to improve our inbound supply chain performance and oversee the respective processes. In close collaboration with the international procurement team and the local buying managers you will be responsible to improve our operational processes, tools and systems from planning via ordering, shipping to receiving, inventory management and invoice reconciliation.

In this role you will manage and develop our growing team of dedicated supply chain experts which work with internal users across the world and our SCM tech teams to continuously improve our supply chain performance. The team initiates and leads special supply chain improvement projects and supports the implementation of new tools and improved processes in existing or newly launched markets. Additionally it works on improving our operational data governance in order to facilitate continuous improvement and the use of methods like PDCA, Muda & Six Sigma to improve operational efficiency. On this the team also oversees our sustainability data reporting and our efforts to minimize waste along the supply chain.  

This challenging task will include initiation, coordination and progress tracking of improvement initiatives in our supply chain, support the implementation of new tools and systems and provide guidance in trouble shooting situations. The international role will be based in our Berlin office and will involve frequent travel to our local markets for a week per month on average.

What you'll do

• KPI based management of supply chain projects and initiatives across all international markets (14 countries, 6 cluster organizations)
• Benchmarking, best practice exchange, and standardization and optimization of inbound supply chain processes  
• Manage permanent improvement of systems and tools that will help our procurement teams to manage orders and inbound shipments more efficiently
• Lead a growing team of supply chain professionals
• Identify, prioritize, structure, and solve an array of other complex supply chain challenges, using analytics, experience and business judgment
• Create a task-force approach and spirit within the operations community to provide execution support to our local buying and supply chain teams
• Manage the progress of sustainability reporting and improve our sustainability data tracking infrastructure

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of experience in FMCG, automotive or retail supply chain management or as a consultant with track record in supply chain management 
• Exceptional project and people management skills
• Superior analytical skills and proven track record of process management and thinking
• An exceptional academic record with degree from top tier college or University
• Solid method competency in lean methods, problem solving techniques and structuring of complex improvement projects
• Six sigma black belt or similar qualification is a appreciated
• Demonstrated ability to enforce metrics that measure performance, drive efficiency  and reduce costs, combined with a hands on mentality
• Openness to work in a young and culturally diverse setup
• Fluent business English knowledge, other languages are considered a plus
