The Job

In this new role as Procurement Operations Manager you will manage our operational buying team and own the inbound supply chain and day-to-day supplier and distribution centre interactions ensuring products arrive in full, on time and in quality at least cost to our customers.

We are looking for an analytical problem solver with a hands-on, “whatever-it-takes” mindset to lead and develop a best-in-class (inbound) supply chain. You will lead continuous improvement efforts on inbound supply chain processes, ensure seamless week-to-week procurement operations and develop and execute our strategic roadmap for cross-functional projects.

The role of Procurement Operations Manager is thus pivotal to the success of the business and is responsible for all ingredients and packaging processes while building a strong, data-driven team.

You will be based out of our Nordic head office in Islands Brygge, Copenhagen and report to senior leadership (Head of Procurement).

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the operational procurement team of four direct reports across two sites (these numbers will grow)
• Develop and execute our operational procurement strategy in line with overall business and Procurement OKRs
• Responsible for all weekly ordering processes and inbound logistics. Work closely with the DC teams to ensure seamless transition from delivered goods to completed boxes.
• Lead optimization projects to improve customer experience, operational excellence and reduce waste. Key focus areas will include: 3PL inventory optimization & scheduling, inventory management, procurement process optimization, waste reduction & supplier claims management, supplier performance reporting, etc.
• Lead communication and act as the interface between suppliers, procurement, food safety & quality assurance, inbounding, warehouse and production, logistics and BI/forecasting teams.
• Ensure budget adherence by delivering within the provided COGS targets. Work closely with buyers and Finance to track spend and waste on a weekly basis.

Who we are looking for

• 3-6 years of experience in supply chain with experience leading a team, in the food sector and/or from a production company. Alternatively experience as a management consultant or from a growth company with a focus on operations
• University graduate in Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering or related fields; Lean Six Sigma (or equivalent) certification is a plus
• A strong continuous improvement mindset - you simply can’t help it
• Strong quantitative and analytical experience, including expertise with Excel/GSheets, Tableau and procurement systems
• Analytical and a problem-solving expert who uses data to drive decisions
• Proactive, ambitious, and assertive: you take ownership of your work and think beyond the scope of a given assignment
• Entrepreneurial with a proven track record of ‘getting things done’
• Excited to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change and limited direction
• Comfortable solving problems and making quick decisions on the go
